It can occur suddenly with a clear and documented history or it may occur insidiously with less defined or obvious causes. Often, the cause of injury is to be found in areas of the body distant from the point of pain. For this reason injury needs to be viewed and treated as part of a complex pattern of movement and balance from head to foot and through 360°

Electrotherapy modalities, including ultrasound and deep tissue oscillation, are employed to speed healing at the site of injury.
